Description

INDIGENOUS INDIAN this is how it started before colonization, reclassification and cultural suppression, there was the INDIGENOUS INDIAN—a vibrant, rooted, sovereign being whose appearance reflected the land, the elements and the spirit of their tribe. This reimagined version of the old Cleveland Indians logo doesn’t mock. It corrects. The wide smile, now sincere, is framed by natural braids wrapped with sacred feathers. The face is adorned with traditional paint markings, pearl adornments and a confident clarity that says: We knew who we were before they told us who we weren’t. American Indians—real ones—carried deep copper and brown skin tones kissed by the sun, thick curly hair often braided or locked with intention, and eyes that saw beyond the physical. They wore garments of hide, fiber, fur and cotton, decorated not for fashion but for story, ceremony and survival. Beads, feathers, shells, gold and paint weren’t “accessories”—they were language. The INDIGENOUS INDIAN stands as the visual origin for this series. This is not the character redefined by colonization, this is the blueprint. The one with memory, the one with meaning this is how it started. And now—we RMBR.
